Michael White vs Guido Fawkes

This is a pretty dated but still interesting interview by Paxman which looks at the rise of political blogging and the convergence of fact and comment. It also makes Paul Staines look like a tool.

  1. One thing I noted in that interview that irks me is treating the blogosphere as if it is a coherent entity. And writing it off because of perceived inaccuracies.

Blogging is for most people more about opinion and discussion than it is about reporting. Writing off blogs because you don't know how accurate they are is like writing off conversation because some people's opinions are fatuous and uninformed.

On a side note Staines came off to me as a self-important, self righteous wind bag.
